ESO Instrument Specific Query Forms

To search for all observations performed with all VLT/VLTI instruments at Paranal and all instruments at La Silla, please use the main archive query form for raw data.
If you would like to query the archive for instrument specific parameters, please use the dedicated query forms for:

  • AMBER (near-infrared J, H, and K band instrument of the VLT Interferometer).
  • APEX (submm telescope with heterodyne spectrometer and bolometer arrays).
  • CRIRES (cryogenic high-resolution infrared echelle spectrograph).
  • FORS1 (optical imager and low dispersion spectrograph).
  • FORS2 (optical imager and low dispersion spectrograph).
  • GIRAFFE (medium-high resolution optical fibre spectrograph [370-900 nm] with multi-object [Medusa mode] and IFU capabilities [IFU, Argus modes]). GIRAFFE is part of the FLAMES facility which can also feed UVES.
  • HARPS GTO query form dedicated to GTO programmes (HARPS is a fibre-fed high resolution echelle spectrograph at the ESO La Silla 3.6m telescope). For non GTO HARPS programmes, please use the main archive query form for raw data.
  • HAWK-I (cryogenic wide field imager).
  • ISAAC stacks (infrared imaging and spectroscopy [1-5µm]); ISAAC form can be used to access individual frames.
This data view features grouping of all frames of a stack into a single record.
  • MIDI (mid-IR N-band [8-13 um] instrument of the VLT Interferometer).
  • NACO (adaptive optics assisted imaging, imaging polarimetry, coronography and spectroscopy [1-5µm]).
  • SINFONI (near-IR [1-2.5 um] integral field spectrograph fed by an adaptive optics module).
  • UVES (ultraviolet-visual echelle spectrograph [300-1100 nm]).
  • VIMOS (visible wide field imager [370-1000 nm] and multi-object spectrograph).
  • VISIR (imager/spectrometer for mid-IR N and Q bands, 8-13 and 16.5-24.5 um).

All instrument specific query forms features DIMM seeing query and viewer and FITS header viewer.

All science observations have a proprietary period of one year. Data sets can be requested after the proprietary period has expired.

To request data you have to register to the ESO User Portal.
