Data delivery: discontinuation of archive ftp service

Published: 03 Apr 2013

As announced in the news of the 24 March 2011, the ftp service in the context of archive requests is now to be discontinued.
The dataportal facility (which you reach after submitting a request using the "Request marked datasets" button) allows you to retrieve the data in three different ways:

  1. instant download the data through a Download Manager
  2. wget the files via a downloadable shell script (downloadRequestxxxxxscript.sh)
  3. "Click and Save" the files one by one.

In addition, because of some continuous denial of service attacks, the media production service is temporarily disabled. It can nonetheless be provided on demand, for requests larger than 400 GB, by sending an email to archive@eso.org until the service is re-established in the coming weeks.
