Overview

The Astronomical Catalog library supports two basic types of catalogs. The first is a catalog containing data on astronomical objects, such as position, name, magnitude and so in. The second is an image server or a service that returns an image of an astronomical object, given its name or coordinates and a width and height. A search in a catalog returns a list of objects, while a request from an image server simply returns a (possibly compressed) FITS image file.
