Note that the current implementation
is of the "medium" WGA catalogue, whereas the help file explains
all the fields of the "large" WGA catalogue.
Fields
- Name
- Meaning
- id
- A unique source id for each detection. This is composed
of: xxrornumber_region_id, where xx is either `rp' for US
sequence or `wp' for German/UK sequence, region is
either `out' for source detected in the outer region
or `in' for source detected in the inner region,
id is the source number detected in the field.
`rornumber' is a sequence number described in the
original `help' file (see above).
- name
- The source designation within this catalog.
To distinguish these sources from those found in
other searches of the ROSAT archive, the designation
WGAJ1223-3751 is used. `WGA' stands for White, Giommi
and Angelini, the authors of the catalog; it is
followed by the source coordinate given as `Jhhmm-/+ddmm`.
- r_a
- The source right ascension in J2000.
- dec
- The source declination in J2000.
- lii
- The source galactic longitude.
- bii
- The source galactic latitude.
- cnt_rate
- The background subtracted source count rate in counts/sec.,
corrected for telescope vignetting and point spread function.
- cnt_rate_err
- The error of the count rate.
- exposure
- The exposure time of the field, given in seconds.
- qflag
- A quality flag. In general 1-4 is bad, 5-10 is good.
0 means the field has not been quality checked.
For an ultra clean source use qflag >= 5.
- snr
- The signal to noise ratio of the source. The threshold
was set at 2.
- prob
- The probability that the detection is a background
fluctuation. The threshold was set to 1.0E-04.
- field
- Original field name as found in the event list.
- offset
- The Offset of the Target position in arcmin from
the Image Center.
- region
- The region of the rosat image used (i =in or o=out).
- oid_1
- The name of the optical ID.
- xid_1
- The name of the pre-ROSAT X-ray ID.
- rid_1
- Name of radio ID.
- irname
- IRAS name.
- vmag
- The V Mag of any optical ID.
- qv_mag
- GSC Quasi-V MAG.
- qb_mag
- GSC Quasi-B MAG.
