Hi all,

This mail might be of interest to anyone building skycat-1.1 from the
source release.

In order to build the "single binary" version of skycat correctly, the
static ".a" versions of the Tcl/Tk and Itcl libraries must be
installed. If they are not installed, you may get the following error
message when starting the binary:

"skycat: unknown option "-standalone"

followed by a traceback. This only causes problems for the single
binary "unexec" version of skycat, not for the normal interpreted
version.

Also, since skycat refers to Tcl's tclConfig.sh file to determine how
to build shared libraries, it is best if you install the static Tcl/Tk
versions first and then the shared versions. Otherwise the shared
library information may not be available in the tclConfig.sh file.

One more tip: it is best to do a "make clean" before rebuilding with
the --enable-shared option turned on. This will force everything to be
recompiled as needed.
