I have been testing the new RTD release ( 2.18 ) on Linux.
1, Built the itcl2.2 release and installed in a new directory
/skycat/local/tcl
- had to rename all existing tcl include and library files
before running configure
2, setenv TCLTK root to the skycat specific tcl directory,
3, configure --enable-shared, make dep,make
Only problems were
i, madvise() in Mem_map.c doesn't have a function prototype
ii, xgrabsc, need to run make seperately in the xgrabsc directory
4, make install doesn't install the man pages because it doesn't
have docDoManpages script.
Systems were.
1, Intel pentium 120, Aha2940 scsi, on Slackware 3.1 XFree86
kernel 2.1.13 / gcc 2.7.2
2, Toshiba 710 portable, Slackwaare 3.2 Xfree86,
kernel 2.1.41 / gcc 2.7.2.1
