Information on the Skycat/RTD/CatLib collaboration list

The Real-Time Display (RTD) is a set of C++ and iTcl classes plus a Tk widget to display astronomical FITS images, optimized for display of images in real-time. Messages sent to the collaboration list on RTD are archived at http://http://archive.eso.org/skycat/list/archive.html

The Catalog Interfaces (CatLib) is a set of C++ and iTcl clases plus a Tk widget to access and display data servers on the net that comply with the Astronomical Server URL (ASU) specification.

The ESO skycat tool glues both building blocks mentioned above to access and display images and catalog/database sources.

While originally started by ESO, the development of the RTD/CatLib/skycat software is undertaken by a wide collaboration group that includes a number of projects and institutes in astronomy.

More information on skycat can be found on http://archive.eso.org/skycat
