Fields:

     Name Table	Type	Meaning
     ---- -----	----	-------

star_id gsc A	Name of the table in which the star was found

gscxxxx	I	Star identification within the table in which the
star was found. The concatenation of the table name
and the star id in the table name form a unique
					Guide Star Catalogue Identifier.

     plate gscplates	A	Plate number.

star/non-star gscxxxx B	Flag: value is 0 for a star, 1 for any other object.

mult/single gscxxxx B	Flag: value is 1 if object is multiply defined in
					the catalogue, 0 otherwise.

mag gscxxxx	F	The magnitude in the passband of the plate, displayed
with a precision of 0.1 mag.

e_mag gscxxxx	F	The error in the catalogued magnitude, displayed in
					10th of mag.

emulsion gscbandpass A	Emulsion used for the plate.

     filter gscbandpass	A	Filter_used.

ra gscxxxx	D	The right ascension, equinox J2000. The epoch is that
of the plate from which the object was catalogued.
					(see plate_exp_date field).

dec gscxxxx	D	The declination. same remark as above.

e_pos gscxxxx	F	Position error: the quadratically combined error in
the two coordinates. One notes that this is not the
traditional definition and that, for un-correlated
errors, the error in one coordinate is about 2.5
					smaller. The units are arcsec.

plate_exp_date gscplates	D	Date of plate exposure. (Use as epoch for the
					coordinates).

plate_exp_time gscplates	D	Duration of the exposure.

     plate_quality gscplates	A	Plate_quality.

_ra D	Computed right ascension for equinox J1950.

_de D	Computed declination for equinox J1950.

     _lii F	Computed galactic longitute.

     _bii F	Computed galactic latitude.

     _L F	Computed supergalactic longitude.

     _B F	Computed supergalactic latitude.
