Hubble Space Telescope Data
Welcome to the ST-ECF Hubble Science Data Archive
The ST-ECF ceased operations on December 31, 2010 (see http://www.stecf.org/)
Plans are being implemented to migrate the European HST Archive to ESA's European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC), Spain, where most of ESA's Space Science Archives are located and operated from.
In the meantime and during the migration period (2011), the European HST Archive will still be operated with ESA support from within the ESO Science Archive Facility. It will continue to serve data in the same way as previously. Support and handling of emergencies will be done on a best-effort basis. For questions and help regarding the archive and its data products please contact hst-archive@eso.org
The ST-ECF archive is the result of a very fruitful and continuous collaboration with the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre (CADC), and the European Organisation for Astronomical Research in the Southern Hemisphere (ESO) .
The ST-ECF main archive can be directly accessed through the HST Science Archive Queries item in the navigation menu; further, more specialised query interfaces are also available on a dedicated page.
HST data served from the ESO/ST-ECF archive have been pre-processed and are available at all times directly from spinning disk. These archive holdings are constantly re-calibrated according to the newest available software and reference files. For more information on this system, dubbed the HST Cache, please see this page.
Through the years, the ST-ECF has been instrumental in the development of many archive value added products, available in the Public Data Products page. Within this framework, as a recent development, all three Hubble archives (STScI, CADC, and ST-ECF) have coordinated their efforts to optimise the future return from their archives. This project, the Hubble Legacy Archive (HLA), offers enhanced data products and new methods of data discovery and access.
